Nu.nl is the fastest and most complete news service in the Netherlands. These are the main reasons why Nu.nl is also the most visited news website in The Netherlands, with 2 million daily and 7 million monthly visitors.
As with every newsroom there is an unmistakable tension between speed and quality of reporting. How can NU.nl make use of our technology and pool of annotators to make the quality of news even better is what we are finding out together.
SVDJ
The Dutch Journalism Fund, supports the quality, diversity and independence of journalism in The Netherlands by promoting innovation. To achieve this goal, the fund provides grants to innovative journalism projects, conducts research and stimulates knowledge sharing across the industry.
The main activities of the fund are the Persinnovatie subsidy program, research on the state of regional and local journalism, The Challenge – a start-up competition for students – and the scenario study.
The SVDJ has placed Make Media Great Again in their newly found accelerator program. Here MMGA received coaching and funding for the period of May until December 2018
SIDN
The SIDN fund is an independent fund which was founded in 2014 based on an initiative of SIDN. SIDN funds is a “algemeen nut beogende instelling (ANBI).
The SIDN made sure the first steps of Make Media Great Again were funded. A seed investment was made.
